Kris Toribio
Principal, Managing Partner
Aside from his passion for real estate, Kris works as Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) that carries his patients safely though their surgical procedures every day. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis with his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2013, he accepted a position on the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. As a critical care nurse, his daily responsibilities involved caring for patients immediately following open-heart surgery in their most acute phase of recovery. After 3 years, Kris went back to school to pursue his graduate education and in 2020, earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia.
Kris’ journey into real estate started in 2020 when him and his wife Angela acquired their first rental property in the Chicago market. Over the next 18 months, they built a $1.6M real estate portfolio and created over $400,000 in equity through capital improvements, increased rents, and improved efficiencies in property management. Kris is also co-founder of Windy City REI: The official Chicagoland Affiliate of the GOB Network, a local real estate meetup whose mission is to help others achieve personal and financial growth through the power of real estate investing.
April Trillana
Director of Asset Management
April currently works as an Advanced Practice Provider at the University of Chicago, where she cares for patients with facial trauma and advanced head and neck cancer with the department of Otolaryngology/ENT. She attended Lewis University and obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. While caring for critically ill patients in the Cardio-Thoracic Intensive Care Unit, she obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing as a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
With over a decade of healthcare experience, April carries her high standards of ethical and compassionate care into her real estate investing by specializing in client relations, building partnerships, and opportunity sourcing.
April is also the co-founder of Windy City REI: The official Chicagoland Affiliate of the GOB Network, a 500+ member, growing local real estate meetup whose mission is to help others achieve personal and financial growth through the power of real estate investing. With her husband, Julian, they have been able to grow a $1 million portfolio and realize $160,000 in equity through their combined real estate investments since mid 2019.
Julian Trillana
Director of Acquisitions
A graduate from Universal Technical Institute, Julian’s skill set carries into his investing with over 14 years of data analysis and critical thinking. His self discovered passion for data science, market analysis and underwriting is honed as a graduate of Spencer Burton’s Real Estate Financial Modeling Accelerator Program, mentorship under David Monroe CCIM, and attending Commercial Multifamily Masterminds within the GOB Network.
Julian is currently completing the rigorous program of advanced coursework and training in financial and market analysis through the CCIM Institute. With his wife, April, they have been able to grow a $1 million portfolio and realize $160,000 in equity through their combined real estate investments since mid 2019. Julian currently works at Chicago O’hare International Airport.
Angela Toribio
Director of Marketing
Angela is a Licensed Realtor and former Assistant Director of a 164-unit senior living community in Northbrook, IL that serves both independent and assisted-living residents. Angela holds a board certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist.
Angela brings her diverse experience in marketing, property management, and customer service into her real estate investing alongside her husband, Kris. Together they have built a $1.6M real estate portfolio and created over $400,000 in equity through capital improvements, increased rents, and improved efficiencies in property management.
Jim Biggs
Key Principal, Senior Advisor
Jim Biggs has over 20 years of experience in real estate, with licenses in Florida and Illinois at various levels from realtor to insurance and Series 6 Securities. Jim has served in a multitude of real estate realtors, owners, and investors associations. Today, Jim controls and has invested in over 1000 rental units. Jim functions as the senior advisor to FreedomInvesting.com and brings valuable experience, network, and resources when it comes to finance, deal structure, and community development.
Jim is a founding partner in Jiroma Enterprises, focused on real estate investing to enhance the value for his investors and his personal investments in multifamily commercial real estate.
David Monroe, CCIM
Strategic Advisor, Market Analysis & Due Diligence
David Monroe, CCIM is a multifamily investor, broker, consultant and instructor at the CCIM institute. David specializes in market analysis, demand/supply analysis, market cycles, feasibility analysis, and teaches that specialty as a CCIM Instructor. David’s experience as an investor/broker also gives him the ability to consult on various lending options, acquisition and disposition after-tax savings and strategies. David also owned a multifamily property management company for nearly 2 years, where he gained the education of a lifetime on how multifamily properties operate and what it takes to manage these assets.
Julie Anne Peterson
Commercial Lender, Advisor
With 30 years of real estate transaction experience, Julie Peterson does not just source funds; she consults with her clients to help solve their immediate needs. She works with all types of income-producing real estate and at all levels of the ‘capital stack’. Julie’s clients are real estate entrepreneurs who are dependent upon the many relationships they establish, and the relationship with their capital is no different.
Julie is currently a Commercial Loan Officer with Old Capital Lending, a premier provider of commercial Capital solutions and advisory services for commercial real estate investors of Multifamily, Retail, Office, and Industrial.
